Had the absolute pleasure of being shown around Glasgow city & trying all sorts of beer with Alasdair today. I was the only person on the tour yet I felt so comfortable & learnt so much about a beautiful historical city. I would recommend this tour to anyone & I will absolutely positively be back to do this tour again! From a beer-loving half-Scottish Australian 😁🍻

Our tour guide Jenny was friendly and entertaining. She made history fun and really knows her stuff.
Reply left 08/12/2019: Thank you Jenn for your feedback on our Edinburgh walking tour. Happy to hear you enjoyed the beer tour with Jenny. We love to have fun and love the history of Scotland, and of course if we share that while drinking some Scottish craft beer it can't be boring! Hope to see you soon to taste other local beers
A Friend had got this tour as a present and invited me along. Alisdair was our guide and we couldn’t have had a better person to take us through the history of Glasgow and of brewing in Scotland. The tour started on a rather wet Blythswood Square, where these two local boys learned a few things about the city, Alisdair has a terrific manner and sense of humour and took us on a thoroughly enjoyable 2hr tour, visiting many of Glasgow’s top sights and of course 3 bars. The beer tastings were also informative, interesting and enjoyable, even finished off with a dessert beer! Can highly recommend
Interesting and informative journey around Leith, where we discovered some cracking little pubs that we would never have known had such a good range of beers. Sara expertly identified our different tastes and tailored the beer tasting accordingly - we tried some amazing local beers. She also had a really passion for the local history and beer, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend.
What a great way to spend an afternoon in Edinburgh! Our guide was super knowledgeable about Edinburgh’s beer history, good fun and offered up a great selection of beers to taste. Would highly recommend to any visitors to Edinburgh who like a beer and are looking for something to do!
Our group of 6 had a blast on our 2 1/2 hour Old Town Tour with Lisa. Our tour started in a really cool underground vault to hear an informative history of beer in Scotland, an explanation of the process of brew making, and an entertaining tasting session. Lisa was impressively well informed, and very articulate, with a very engaging passion for beer culture in Edinburgh. Our walking tour continued to 2 other venues where we sampled several other beers. We couldn't have had a better guide for this tour. This is a EXTREMELY fun way to spend a few hours in Edinburgh. I highly recommend the Old Town Walking Tour!
We so enjoyed our Saturday afternoon beer walking tour with Sara. She was an excellent guide; friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable. We tasted some tasty beers while learning some of Edinburgh's history and walking around the old town at a relaxed pace. It was a highlight of our weekend!
Better than we could expect. Jenny is a great tour guide and delivered us some good time. We really enjoyed all the history about Scotlands brewing and the all tastings of course. Totally recommend it.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Sara learning so much about the history and tasting experience of beer and whisky in Edinburgh. Particularly fascinating as we are farmers growing malting barley, one of the main ingredients. Great to find out more about the whole process in relation to the historical time
Nice & historical tour within the city of Edinburgh. Must do for those who like beer and its story
Reply left 08/12/2019: Thanks for sharing your experience on our Edinburgh beer tour! Very glad you liked the history of the city and of the local beer. We have a lot more to share on our Edinburgh brewery tour and our Leith tour. Hope to see you again for more good Scottish craft beer and history!
I booked onto the old town beer tour with my husband. We had a fantastic time! Jenny was great and struck the perfect balance between making it a fun afternoon and being very knowledgeable. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone visiting Edinburgh who has an interest in beer.
Our tour guide Jenny was extremely knowledgeable about the history of beer and brewing in Edinburgh - and while history can be pretty dry, she was really fun and entertaining! She had picked out a great selection of local Scottish beers and brewpubs so the tasting was really enjoyable. Very highly recommended tour - Four Thumbs Up!
One of the best tours Ive been at, both when it comes to beer knowledge but also the history lesson you get during the tour. Lisa, our guide, was awesome and had alot of interesting things to say about the town and its beers history! If you are interested in beers and scottish history this is a tour for you!
Reply left 08/12/2019: Hi Kristoffer, glad you enjoyed the history of Edinburgh and the beers on our walking tour! We always do our best to share untold stories about the city and the local breweries. There are so many good craft beers to taste in Scotland and so many links between the history of Scotland and the history of the local beer industry. Thank you for taking the time to leaving us some feedback :)
Cannot express my gratitude enough. Our guide Lisa had the most detailed knowledge, not only of beer but also of Scotland. She was incredibly kind and easy to speak with. We came out of the tour feeling like beer connoisseurs! The beers on the tour were Scottish - a nice touch. We got to try beers of all sorts! The only thing I would change is have the guides drink more beer with us! This is a beer tour after all! 😉 Overall, 10/10. Lisa is amazing and so was this tour!
Reply left 08/12/2019: Thank you very much Leigh for your great review of our Edinburgh walking tour! Very happy that you had a amazing time with Lisa and that you liked the different styles of our amazing Scottish craft beers. Hope to see you soon on our brewery tour or in Glasgow to try some other local beer with us ;) (and maybe we'll have a taste with you ^^)
We did the Edinburgh Old Town Beer Tour with out guide Lisa. She did a great job explaining the components of beer and we sampled many different types of beer. Lisa also provided some interesting history of beer, Edinburgh and Scotland.Definitely a go to tour for people inetrested in beer and history.
This tour was great. Jenny was an awesome storyteller and not one of those beardy craft beer types that thinks you’re broken for liking Bud Light. Good times, great pubs I’ll be back in and the beer was on point. Solid tour well worth doing, especially considering that terrible tourist stuff you get in Edinburgh. This tour is legit a must for people who like good beer.
I stumbled upon ScotBeer Tour when I was looking at a Google Map of the area. My partner and I are big beer drinker and I thought it would be fun to experiment Edinburgh that way! I didn't have much expectations, but I was blown away by the knowledge, stories, and over all experience. Lisa was FANTASTIC. She was a great story teller and very knowledgeable about Edinburgh and beer. I think we were extra lucky because our tour group was packed with fun, fascinating people. We even had a gal that didn't like beer, but going one she enjoyed! I HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone that wants to experience this city in a great way. Just awesome!More
Wonderful visit to the Barney's Brewery today with a great guide. She shares her knowledge of Edinburgh brewery's history with passion. The beer testing was exciting and I had good advices as I would like to work in the world of beer. Thank you again it was really perfect ! Amazing 😊
During my tour of Scotland I found myself in Glasgow. I was fortunate enough to take a walking tour with two of ScotBeer’s finest. During the walking tour points of interest for the history of beer making in Glasgow. After the walking tour we retired to several area pubs for tasting and further education on Scottish beer with hands on demonstrations of ingredients and complementary snacks to bring out the true flavors of the brew. I highly recommend taking a ScotBeer tour should the opportunity arise.
