Very insightful visit of Barney's brewery and fun beertasting afterward with great guides Sara and Zoé who advised us throughout the tasting. Recommended even during a short city trip...
Excellent afternoon and a great way to see the city. Sara and Zoe we’re great guides.
Had a fabulous tour! Ally was great and really knew his stuff! Would definitely come again 😁
We took a private tour (Leith Taproom Trail) for six of us who were in town for a birthday weekend. Our guide Jenny was full of knowledge and stories not just about the beer but also the history of brewing in Scotland and Edinburgh. We went to three venues that we would have been unlikely to find on our own, and tasted a wide range of beer styles including things we would never have thought to try ourselves. I cannot recommend it highly enough and at least one of the group is already planning a second visit with some other friends.
Excellent afternoon. Host Sara was very knowledgeable pleasant and friendly. Very interesting tour and sampled some really nice beers. Would totally recommend this tour.
Sara is amazing! Started an amazing company, super knowledgeable, friendly, and best of all creates a wonderful story with beer as the main protagonist! Great fantastic beers, with insight on not just the history of beer, but where beer is going, at least in Scotland.
We had an AMAZING time on this tour! Alisdair was an amazing guide. We got to learn some good history about the city of Glasgow as well as the history of beer in Scotland. He was very knowledgeable. He picked great beer selections and was very inclusive of everyone in the group. I would definitely recommend!

What’s not to like. Fascinating history and good beer while walking in the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Jenny was extremely knowledgable about both the history and beer. We ended up staying at The Hanging Bat after the tour to work our way through the well curated tap list and bottle section. Highly recommend.
Our tour guide Jenny was wonderful. She gave us the history of beer making in Edinburgh and provided many different tastings at different pubs to showcase some of variations in beer that are in Edinburgh. It was so much fun - highly recommend it!

Thanks in advance from the ScotBeer Team - Sara, Jenny, Estelle, Lisa, Johnny, Jean-Baptiste and Alasdair.
On a dark and wet December Sunday lunchtime we met Jenny for our SCOTBEER tour. We were caught up in her enthusiasm for not only real ale but the history surrounding beer making in Scotland and its impact on the economy and politics.
The three pubs we visited had a range of different and some freshly brewed and unique beers picked by Jenny for us to try, each tasting was tailored to our responses and questions.
From the cold, wet and apprehensive walk to the meeting place the experience not only lifted our spirits (partly due to the beer) but we left with new found knowledge and recommendations for other pubs to visit for food and beer.

Thoroughly enjoyable trip around Edinburgh, with beers included. Knowledgeable, interesting and entertaining, Jenny was an engaging host. I’m not a one for guided tours, but this was the exception - recommended.
Had the absolute pleasure of being shown around Glasgow city & trying all sorts of beer with Alasdair today. I was the only person on the tour yet I felt so comfortable & learnt so much about a beautiful historical city. I would recommend this tour to anyone & I will absolutely positively be back to do this tour again! From a beer-loving half-Scottish Australian 😁🍻

Was trying to find out where Edinburgh’s hidden craft beer gems were. Tour showed us a few spots and had sampled quite a few different styles of beers while listening the beer history of the city. Walked a lot and met some good folks that were part of the same tour. Everyone part of the tour were UK citizens and very friendly when we told them we were from Texas. Lisa did a great job thoroughly explaining the different types of beers in great detail and really knows her stuff. I just wish we would’ve actually had full beers at each spot rather than small samples but that’s my only complaint lol! Enjoy!
Our tour guide Jenny was friendly and entertaining. She made history fun and really knows her stuff.

We love to have fun and love the history of Scotland, and of course if we share that while drinking some Scottish craft beer it can't be boring! Hope to see you soon to taste other local beers
This tour was great. I thought it would be a pub crawl but during the day which was great since it left time for things later in the day. I didnt realize that it would include history as well. I went from a general Glasgow walking tour to this tour and they really didnt overlap much which was awesome. This tour started much farther west than what I would consider the city center so I got to see a different area of Glasgow before the tour even started. We only had 3 people on our tour so we could move quickly. I enjoyed all of the pub choices and the related info about the beers we tried. The tour ends at Brewdog which encourages you to hang out and chat with the other tour members. Great tour, great value for money.
A Friend had got this tour as a present and invited me along. Alisdair was our guide and we couldn’t have had a better person to take us through the history of Glasgow and of brewing in Scotland. The tour started on a rather wet Blythswood Square, where these two local boys learned a few things about the city, Alisdair has a terrific manner and sense of humour and took us on a thoroughly enjoyable 2hr tour, visiting many of Glasgow’s top sights and of course 3 bars. The beer tastings were also informative, interesting and enjoyable, even finished off with a dessert beer! Can highly recommend
Interesting and informative journey around Leith, where we discovered some cracking little pubs that we would never have known had such a good range of beers. Sara expertly identified our different tastes and tailored the beer tasting accordingly - we tried some amazing local beers. She also had a really passion for the local history and beer, which we really appreciated. Highly recommend.
