Yate South Gloucestershire: Store: Poor Customer Service: Lewis I purchased a watch battery on 16th July at the above store from for my basic Seconda. After having complained about the price of £17.90 I was offered a life time guarantee. After less than 12 hours the battery failed and I had to return to the Yate store on the afternoon of 17th July. On the basis that I had been seriously inconvenienced in time / travel and the original price was excessive, I decided that I would invoke my right to a full refund under consumer rights law. Lewis who served me was extremely rude and stated at least three times that I would not get a refund and ultimately he would refuse to change my battery too. I indicated my displeasure and that this was my right to a refund. He insisted that I would under no circumstance receive a refund or would he change my battery. He explained that the terms & conditions were transparent and on the guarantee card, which is clearly not the case. There is no returns policy provided with my receipt. After a while and despite no imminent threat, he decided to call shopping centre security. His actions were totally unnecessary and those of a complete drama queen. My complaint is primarily against Lewis who has been a poor representative for your company (he wasn’t even wearing a name badge) He was extremely rude, arrogant, surly and patronising. He is also ignorant of the law under Consumer Rights Act 2015. If I want a refund then as responsible retailer I would expect Timpson’s to show a modicum of customer service and do the right thing. You clearly have a problem as a business as on Trust Pilot, 21% of customer’s rate your company’s service as BAD. The actions of Lewis at the Yate store only reinforce this perception of poor service. I look forward to hearing from you.
