Timpson Alloa Mill Street Review by George B, 2020-09-16T19:51:00

Can't complain about the speed or quality of the service I received in relation to getting a replacement battery put into my watch. However I don't get the £85 price just because the watch was a Tag Heuer. I had a battery put into another lesser known brand in the Stirling store last week for £15.87 also with the Lifetime guarantee. I understand that watch batteries tend to cost 50p or less albeit there are as number of different types out there. However I don't believe that the batteries in a 'high end' watch are necessarily any more expensive that the batteries that go into a budget quarts watch. So Timpsons are, as I see it, ripping off people who need batteries for the more expensive quartz watches. When rating your service I need to factor in price hence the two stars. Of course, my fault for being gullible. Having asked the price I should have left the shop and did some research on battery types, costs and the services offered elsewhere. I now know that there is no justification for an £85 price tag for a battery change, reseal and pressure test.
