tastecard Review by Iain M, 2020-06-18T16:39:18

Beware this is a subscription based company who will continue to take money even after you attempt to cancel. I say attempt as they conveniently closed the phone lines and claim they didn’t receive either your e mall or online cancellation. I would advise all customers to contact their bank and block tastcard from the account. They have been continuing to take money out of accounts even though they cannot provide the service they offer which is money off restaurants. All U.K. restaurants have been closed for more than 3 months. They will extend your membership by 3 months but will take payment next year the day before the original agreement ended not the extended date. They claim they send you a reminder prior to taking the money this is a complete lie as you will see the majority of disgruntled customers never receive this apparent e-mail. I did not receive it and checked my spam box as well as my inbox. Realistically when restaurants do re open many of the chain restaurants have already gone out of business or are closing lots of branches. Due to social distancing restrictions many restaurants will now have half capacity so unlikely to continue to let tastecard members use the card. They are doing a big push trying to claim they are offering stay at home service it’s nonsense. The Pizza restaurants already offer 2 for 1 or 50% off or meal deals which actually means you are not getting anything better with yourself tastecard membership but often actually costing more. The streaming movie vouchers through Rakuten are a set price discount You will find that Google, Amazon etc actually offer the same film cheaper Than your discounted code you have to pre purchase. The shopping offers are more subscription services which tastecard get another kick back on and majority actually offer better long term discounts on their own website. The reason tastecard are offering these non existent stay at home hub offers are they know they can’t actually provide at this time what they sold the card for. Meaning they cannot provide the service they sold you and they are trying to buffer with a sub standard offering. If you look through the majority of reviews over the past 3 months the positive reviews are all very suspicious looking. This company get employees to get friends and family to write fake positive reviews and I would also suspect pay or reward individuals to write positive reviews. I would be interested to actually have a two way dialogue with them however I suspect they will attempt to get my review removed like they appear to get so many removed.AVOID TASTECARD THEY ARE A SUBSCRIPTION SCAM. As they renewed my card during lockdown I am goinG to have the pleasure of ensuring I leave feedback weekly on as many review and social media outlets until my current card expires. I look forward to eventually having dialogue with you!
