Excellent experience from start to finish. Yes slightly pricey but it’s top notch service! Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and top of the range products. I tend to go with stylist Helen as she’s fab but all the staff are more than experienced! If you’re a student, don’t forget to use your discount too!
A genuinely disappointing experience! I was ten minutes late for my appointment due to extensive road-works around Liverpool City Centre. I arrived at 1625 hours for a 1615 hrs appointment and the salon was open until 1845 hrs however I was curtly told that they would see what they could do when I called to say I would be ten minutes late.
I've always rated AC on the quality of the hair colouring however when I explained what I would like, which was a simple root tint to warm up my base colour and some nice copper lowlights I was advised that they would only be able to match my colour as I hadn't explained that I wanted a colour change and this would have required a pre consultation. This hadn't been explained to me at any point and I have never had this experience before in AC on Bold Street in the many years that I have bene going there for a cut and colour.
This was my last hair appointment before my wedding day and I really feel quite cheated. I've in essence paid for my hair to look exactly as it did when I walked in - the only difference is the cut which is always lovely from AC. Had I known further in advance of the appointment, I would have reconsidered having the colour done or just gone to Aveda instead.
I really got the impression that they were short staffed as my stylist was doing my hair and another ladies and also because I was the last appointment of the day, that I just didn't matter. The girl who cut my hair consulted two other male members of staff and whilst I appreciate her taking a second opinion, I felt quite embarrassed sat in the chair with three of them inspecting my hair and explaining that I should just keep my hair as it is. I really felt quite unhappy with the whole customer service experience and would struggle to trust an Andrew Collinge salon again.

Firstly I sincerely apologise for your disappointment during your recent visit to our Liverpool salon.
Also I’m sorry you felt the way you were spoken to was curt when you phoned to say you might be late. That would not have been our intention as we are aware that circumstances can result in late arrivals and we always endeavour to accommodate any problems. We pride ourselves on friendly customer care and endeavour to always offer good service.
With regard to your complaint I have spoken to the hairdresser you were booked in with and to the salon manager who was in attendance during your consultation
I understand you booked your appointment by phone a few weeks ago, requesting a root tint and lowlights. On the day of your appointment during the consultation you mentioned you would like your tint to be warmer ( a chestnut shade. Base 5). Although this new colour would have been possible to achieve on your natural regrowth (which was 2cm-3cm), the majority of your hair had previously been tinted a slightly darker colour, ( base 4). Therefore unfortunately we couldn’t do what you wished for on the day as it’s not possible to tint tinted hair lighter, without first carrying out a cleansing service that removes the darker tint. This technique requires a fair amount of time as it can take a couple of cleanses to get the even result needed before we can apply the new shade of tint to the hair. To carry out this service the length of your appointment would have been increased from 2.5 hours to approximately 3.75 hours. With this in mind your stylist did offer to rearrange your appointment to another day, but I understand this was not convenient for you.
If the receptionist had been aware you were thinking of a change of colour we would have then requested you visited the salon prior to your appointment for a consultation to assess what was required and to book out the appropriate amount of time needed.
I very much appreciate you were not to know the requested change of colour was not as simple as it might appear and I apologise for the amount of attention this brought made you feel uncomfortable. I have taken note of this and will ensure we learn from this.
At all times your best interests were our priority, I hope this was evident with the in-depth consultation you received. You also mention in you review you got the impression the salon was short staffed as your stylist was doing another ladies hair. This was not the case, the other client in question was a cut and finish appointment, carried out whilst your colour was developing. This is normal salon booking practice.
I would like to invite you back to the salon, at a date of your convenience for a complimentary blow dry and luxury hair care treatment. Maybe before your big day if that works out for you. Your custom is greatly appreciated and you matter very much so I hope you take up this invite. Please let me know and I will arrange it.
Had a disastrous haircut and went to Andrew collinge to fix it . Katie a senior stylist did my hair . So happy with the cut and the service . Needless to say went in quite distraught but came out feeling great . Professional, friendly and really couldn’t fault the place . Thanks Katie xx
Have been a customer of Andrew Collinge for several years. I always get 1st-class treatment.
I have my hair style-cut, colour redone regularly plus wash, treatment and head massage. I am always offered coffee as soon as I walk in and treated as if I am special. Can thoroughly recommend Andrew Collinge.
I had a lovely blow dry and chat with Nicky. She was very attentive and a lovely person, not to mention an amazing hairdresser! Thank you xxxx

This was my first visit for treatment. I had previously had an appointment with David to discuss a colour shade and other treatment options.
I was made very welcome and looked after very well. I was offered tea on arrival and pleased to say my appointment time was as arranged

Excellent service every visit.
One of the loos was out of order when I was there - hence 9/10 on environment.
I love coming to the salon but it is expensive. I'd come more often if the price was lower.
