I visited Tesco Longton branch in Stoke on Trent to have international (Polish) passport photos taken in order to renew my passport. International passport photo service is advertised on the website and I was hoping photos taken by professional company would meet strict criteria. Photos from the first set were clearly too dark with very unnatural colours and shadows which I realised after returning home. I returned to the shop after two days and photos were retaken, by the same gentleman who took the original photos. He was extremely friendly and helpful by all accounts and let me keep original set just in case. So it was disappointing to find out none of the photos have been accepted by consulate (too dark), which was stressful and inconvenient, as I had to take a day off work and travel to renew my passport. I also had to rush and pay for new photos in order to complete my passport application, luckily I was allowed to come back the same day, otherwise I'd need to take another day off! . I'm not sure whether the issue is lack of staff training or criteria for (at least) Polish passport photos have been misunderstood, but I believe it is not a good practice to advertise a service one is not able to provide.
