Absolutely disgraceful! 10 years ago my husband and i rented our first home together through letting solutions, in Elliott Terrace, Falkirk. In addition to an ongoing issue regarding damp and black mold in the flat (an issue which was not resolved and blamed on us) our deposit was withheld for adding cable TV - which we did not have. Our case was not helped/heard as our landlord also worked for letting solutions at the time (not disclosed at the time of signing the lease). What an awful experience that still leaves a bad taste in the mouth (even now) and would hate to see other young naive couples having the same experience. Thankfully, we went on to rent two properties through Belvoir, and subsequently used them as letting agents when we became landlords. As a potential tenant/landlord i would strongly recommend proceeding with caution!
