The two reviewers Stephanie and Darren have not explained that they shared a property and that both are talking about the same tenancy. We believe the “3 months” comment relates to a plumbing case where Scottish Gas attended for a repair promptly, but the tenants subsequently failed to report that the issue had not been resolved, entirely the reason for delay, but when eventually reported by the tenants the repair was carried out promptly. Stephanie has also not explained that in asking to move out the tenants wished to vacate the property early thereby breaking the terms of the lease. The landlord was naturally disappointed by this, and legally entitled to enforce the lease, but agreed to early termination, being prepared to forego rent subject to some costs being covered but still with a significant saving to the tenants overall. In the event the tenants decided to stay until the end of the lease thereby incurring no costs other than those attributable to rectifying a damaged worktop, dealing with a carpet burn, and some cleaning, all due to the tenants. We are here to support clients in difficult circumstances. Regarding Darren’s comments about delays in Letting Solutions responding to repairs, these are simply untrue. We have checked our logs and all requests for repairs were dealt with promptly in writing. All in all we believe the landlord treated the tenants kindly and professionally, being prepared to accept a potential loss of income, and she was also understanding in relation to damages in the property. Darren’s comments about “Google users” are particularly unfortunate and indeed libellous having no basis in fact whatsoever. We have no control over Google’s rules which allow people to post reviews anonymously.
