I recently purchased two Conway two-seater sofas from Dunelm. These were delivered within a reasonable time frame, but the delivery men refused to take them upstairs to our lounge. The staircase is very easy - it is straight and has only 12 steps then a couple of yards into the lounge. When I contacted Dunelm the lady I spoke to expressed surprise and said she had never heard of that happening before. She promised to contact the delivery company to see if they could return and carry them up to our lounge. I heard nothing for two days so I rang again and was told by the man I spoke to that delivery to the room of choice was not guaranteed leaving us to sort it ourselves. The furniture stayed downstairs for approx two weeks.Presumably if I lived in a first floor flat the sofas would have been left outside on the doorstep!I cannot see anywhere in the Terms & Conditions where it states that items will/may not be delivered to a room of your choice. Had I known that this would happen I would not have ordered from Dunelm in the first place.I put together a review for the website but Dunelm refused to post it. I was offered a token voucher for £15 for the inconvenience which had been caused. The sofas are fine but I was left feeling very disappointed with the service.
