Patrick Cannon is a top class tax barrister who (unlike most of his peers) has a tendency to win his (more often than not difficult & challenging) cases against HMRC. This is no doubt due to his tenacity as an advocate and his strong technical skills and experience. In addition, he is possibly the country's leading expert on Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) and really knows his stuff in terms of SDLT planning and UK tax planning generally.
