Miller Metcalfe Hindley Review by Dave M, 2018-12-20T22:19:05

What an absolute joke I would never use these again very unprofessional, it was like they have never sold an house before from the beginning I had nothing but trouble, I first got the letter of sale with the wrong amount on then after about 4 weeks hadn’t heard any updates about the sale so when I rang them they told me not to worry but I rang my solicitor and they hadn’t even informed them about my sale so between myself and the solicitor we got the sale started, after this every time I rang they said they would ring me back but never did and after about 12 weeks was getting worried that my sale would fall through and then I would lose the house I had put an offer in for, then I had a knock at the door and it was the couple buying our house, I could see they was upset and asked them in to find out what’s wrong and basically the woman buying there house was threatening to pull out if they didn’t leave the property in 24 hours because she had been waiting so long , so I asked what the hold up was buying our house and they had told them we wasn’t ready to move out which was untrue because I had been ringing them telling them I needed a quick sale and I could have been out weeks ago. In the end we made it work between us but letting them store there belongings in our house and they moved in with family so the chain wasn’t broken otherwise we would have all lost out, eventually everything was ready to go but I got another set back because they never sent the invoice in time so had to wait another 24 hours even though they promised to send it that day after me ringing numerous times to chase it up which then cost me an extra £60 in interest. Basically it was astonishing how bad they was and there was other issues (to many to mention). I would never use them again considering they sold me a package deal for £3000 which was meant to be hassle free and I believe if it wasn’t for us trusting the other couple and vise versa our sale wouldn’t have happened, I did complain but they just weren’t interested and have still not received an apology or any compensation.

Reply: Mr Meadows, We are really sorry to read the below and the difficulties you have had with regards to your sale. I can assure you that Miller Metcalfe informed your solicitor of your sale immediately with a Memorandum of sale, unfortunately there was a delay as this was not picked up as the original solicitor left the company. Timescales are never agreed via the estate agents and although the branch will try to be as involved as they can with progressing the sale, it is left in the capable hands of the solicitors, to deal with the legal process. The sale was a difficult sale and did involve the chain having to break to save the whole chain in the long-term. Unfortunately your part of the sale was not legally ready at this stage, not that you personally wasn’t ready to move, this was explained to all parties at the time. We do not seem to have received a complaint from yourself if you would like to forward your complaint to [email protected] we will certainly deal with this, as per our complaints procedure. Once again we apologise that you have been left feeling frustrated, we are always happy to take customers thoughts and comments on board, so we can adapt our practices to make the process better. left 2018-12-21T11:33:15
