Tour was perfect pace; Jenny tour guide was super knowledgeable about Edinburgh city and beer history - really enjoyed her women beer making spin to demonstrate to historical brew history of city. All brew pub tour stops were exciting and beer samples were very generous and diverse beer styles; they were all excellent. Appreciated last stop where Jenny asked which beer we liked best and then treated us to a nice extra pour. And the tour follow up email highlighing all the brew pubs and beers tasted was very helpful as we were still in Edinburough and were able to revisit some tour stops we liked. Plus, the city beer map really enhanced our trip to plan more brew pub touring on our own. Tour was a very good value - Jenny was enthusiastic and made all tour guests feel comfortable with learning more about Edinburgh beer. A very unique experience we will treasure. I visited Barney's Brewery as part of a Brewery tour plus walking tour with beer tasting. Our tour guide, Jenny, delivered a superb experience. She conveyed a good understanding of the beer making process. She engaged those present with touching, smelling and tasting during the technical discussion of the brewing process. However, those in the group were not interested in the technical aspects. Our tour guide adjusted her discussion accordingly. We left the brewery and went to a pub. Our tour guide did try to connect the brewing process with the taste and flavors we experienced from the different beers she provided. However, it seemed the quirkiness of the pub and elements of local folklore created more discussion from the group than the brewing process. Our trip to the second pub provided the occasion for discussing more local history. In hind sight, I realized she was highlighting historical "facts" that later she would weave into a masterful tale. She took us to several more pubs, pointed out several more places of historic interest and poured numerous samples of beer. We buzzed in discussion about the sense or non-sense of the historic facts she brought to light. She delivered her final tale in masterful form drawing upon previously mentioned "facts". Measured, pausing between statements, she looked at each of the participants. Mentally, I raced ahead of her, attempting to anticipate the story's conclusion. By fact four I had a theory. Fact five matched my theory and that theory held as she laid out facts 6 and 7. Highly unlikely I thought. But when she looked my way with gleaming eyes and a devilish smile, I nodded in approval. I, like all the other participants, nodded in agreement and roared with laughter. That indeed was how it happened. I purposely left out the specifics of her tale. It's best to hear such a tale first from a master.More

Such a wonderful tour around the historic center learning about the city and its brewing history. Probably the best city tour I've taken - Jenny's vivid presentation was like watching an addictive documentary! So much new information and how it all came beautifully together at the end of the tour. Highest praises from our hen do group!

Despite the rain, our guide Jenny was up for the task. Ever cheerful and pleasant, her knowledge of Scotland’s historic beer past was a great lead into the various tastings we were poured. Local sours, stouts, pale ales, and more were enjoyed. Thanks Jenny...fantastic tour!!! Keep an open mind to trying new craft brews. I highly recommended it.

Can't recommend enough for anyone who enjoys beer! We had a great group and Lisa was an amazing guide with tons of knowledge. She picked out great-tasting beers, even ones I wouldn't have ever picked for myself. All in all, it was an excellent experience.

Spent a fun afternoon in the company of tour guide Lisa, visiting three bars in Edinburgh old town and learning how to appreciate beer even more by sampling some of the local products. Along the way Lisa told us some interesting stories about the history of beer brewing in Edinburgh and the influence it had on the local area.

Lisa our guide took us to three great pubs and we tried a selection of tasty beers. Lisa really brought the tour to life and her stories of Scottish beer history and colourful characters were fun and informative.

Jenny was absolutely amazing! I know quite a bit about brewing and have been on many beer tours. But she made it really interesting still, and I learnt a lot I didn't know. It was great learning about the history tied to Leith especially. Beers were really good and tried out a variety of bars.Would highly recommend!

Ross did an AMAZING job walking us through the beautiful streets of Edinburgh while giving us a fascinating history lesson - what a wonderful way to learn about the city! The beer tastings were great as well. At the beginning of the tour, we were asked what types of beer we particularly enjoyed and Ross did his best to accommodate all of our tastes while giving us a variety of Scottish beers to try. I discovered I am quite a fan of sour beers! I also loved that this was a smaller tour. My husband and I felt more like we were walking around and drinking beer with a group of friends while getting to know an amazing city - instead of a large formal walking tour. Highly recommend this experience!

We had a brilliant afternoon with Lisa and Victor on Saturday on the old town beer tour. Really fun and interesting way to see parts of the city and learn about the Scottish beer history as well getting to try some lovely beer in great venues. Highly recommended!

Jenny is an outstanding guide. She really know the city history and the beer process. Hers was the best description and display of the beer components and the effect each has on the end product. She is so animated when telling the historic stories that you feel like you were there. She took into account the fact that we cannot stand still for very long, waling or sitting is fine, and adjusted to account for that. They also adjusted their start time to accommodate our cruise ship schedule. She quickly learned our preferences and adjusted her recommendations to match. Just cannot say enough good about this tour.

This tour was a lot of fun. I have been on beer tours/pub crawls before, but this one was different in that we got to sample a number of different beers at each location. It was also unique in that it was a very small group (only 8 of us), so we were able to interact and get to know one another rather than just being herded from place to place. Lisa, our guide, was super friendly and very knowledgeable and picked out a nice variety of beer types for us to sample. It also doesn't hurt that it was in Old Town Edinburgh which is just beautiful! This tour took us to places that normally we would not have seen as some of them were off the normal "tourist path". We actually returned to one of the bars the next day for a pint of their stout!More
