The Olive Branch Marsden Review by James B, 2019-01-11T00:00:00

I visited the Olive Branch as a party of 5, all of us felt a complete and utter sense of despondency when leaving. I have never experienced such levels of careless service, much of the food was not available, which we were not told until we were ready to order. My biggest issue came with the wine, we ordered several bottles between ourselves, these were simply dumped on the table and walked away from, no pouring into glasses, no chat, nothing. Furthermore, when members of our party changed from white to red, none of us were given or even offered different glasses. Again, the bottle was dumped onto the table and walked away from without a single word or care. This is a lack of training and understanding and is genuinely very disappointing. We had to remind members of staff that we had ordered drinks, and elements of each course had been forgotten, for example the port with the cheese boards. The food was not of sufficient quality to reflect the price, the lobster with the surf and turf was overcooked. An overall dreadful experience from unfriendly staff who made us feel unwelcome and as if we were an imposition to them. Your money can be better spent elsewhere.
