Eden Harper Battersea Review by N/A, 2019-01-10T00:00:00

We put a holding deposit down on a flat and sent a large sum of £500 to the bank account on the form we were given which stated that this money would reserve the property for us. We spoke multiple times with the estate agent who said that she would be in touch the next day. We then found out she had accepted another holding deposit (which is not what estate agents are supposed to do and this breaches the contract that we entered when we paid the deposit first). We were then put in a bidding war with another group and were played against each other. We were told that we had both put in the SAME offers after increasing them multiple times and then were told that the landlord would decide. The agent told us that if the other group were going to put their prices up, she would tell us. SHE DIDN'T! I then received a call the next morning saying that the landlord had accepted the other offer. APPALLING. We had put our holding deposit down first and yet the deposit did not to what the company said it would do. So they are dishonest and do not communicate well. They then tried to make us look like we were lying when by saying they gave us the chance to negotiate- they didn't as they never told us about the increase in offer by the other group and therefore they had an advantage (even though they paid after us)l. Poor service, poor communication and they get very defensive when they know they are wrong. Multiple holding deposits should not be accepted.
